Samba Drumming in Rocinha

When I was living in Rocinha, I had the chance to attend the practices of the samba bateria (percussion drum band) run by the Acadêmicos da Rocinha -- practices that run all year in preparation for Carnaval. I immediately fell in love with this form of samba.

I can listen to these bands for hours. At these practices, I did.
