Home

I have been home for almost two months. It has been almost a month since I last updated the blog and I have no excuses for the lack of entries. It's not like I've been pre-occupied with more pressing matters. Like half-heartedly looking for a job. Or completely overhauling my previously antiquated photo post-processing work flow. Or re-watching my The West Wing DVDs. Or finding new music by sifting through the 900+ songs in the 2010 SxSW music torrent. Or fake-murdering people in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

I'm still haven't completely wrapped my head around the fact that I'm no longer travelling. It sucks. I miss it. This is not to say that there aren't great things about being home. Travelling should make one appreciate home; otherwise one should really evaluate whether that place is "home".

Here's a quick list of things that make not travelling suck less:

  • Naters (really, all friends and family; but I figured I'd highlight the youngest, cutest one.)
  • live NHL hockey (though, as a Leafs fan, it can get tiresome as a supporter of a team that sucks is rebuilding.)
  • editing photos on something larger than a 13-inch screen
  • driving
  • Tim Hortons
  • access to blue jeans
  • Unibroue beers
  • running in crisp, single-digit temperatures
  • full use of my BlackBerry without worrying over ludicrous roaming charges
  • my Wüsthof knives
  • Mountain Equipment Co-op

But I wish I was still out there.
