My Travel Wishlist (Part IV)

In the last four months, I've crossed three things off the list. Well, I added one and then immediately it crossed off. (When arranging my transportation in and out of Tibet proved to be more of a hassle than I'd anticipated, I was gutted by the possibility that I might have to miss out on the Tibet-Qinghai railway.) But this wishlist update has less to do with the things I've managed to cross off and more to show off the fact that it keeps bloody growing. (Well, that and with the finickiness of Chinese Internet connections, any text-only update is a good one.)

• Set foot on Antarctica
• Climb Mt. Kilimanjaro
• Jump out of a plane in Queenstown (well, over Fox Glacier, actually), New Zealand
• Do the 'World's Most Dangerous Hike' up Hua Shan, Shaanxi, China (*)
• Pay my respects at the Canadian National Vimy Memorial, Vimy Ridge
• Trek to Everest Base Camp
  
• See the Sun Rise over Angkor Wat
• Trek in Patagonia
  
• Get my Indiana Jones on in Petra, Jordan
• Get onto the roof of a train in India
• Reflect on the beaches of Normandy
• Paraglide in Nepal
  
• Backpack in Glacier National Park
• Ride the Trans-Siberian Railway
• Connect with my inner-Darwin in the Galapagos Islands
• Ride a ship up or down the Amazon River
• Cycle up the Col de Tourmalet.
• Run the Médoc Marathon, sampling all the wine stations.
• Drive the PCH between Marin and Big Sur, on a sunny day, in a convertible.

• Find the Freakiest Mannequin in the World
• Spend Carnival in Brazil (in Rio or Salvador de Bahia)
  
• Backpack in Torres del Paine National Park
• Summit at least one 6,000 metre peak (Chachani Volcano, I'm looking at you!)
  
• Backpack the Milford Track in the Fiordlands of New Zealand
  
• Leap off the highest commercial bungy jump at the Macau Sky Tower

• Watch an opera at the Sydney Opera House
• Attend a Grand Slam Tennis tournament
• See the Aurora Borealis or the Aurora Australis (the Polar Lights)
• Trek into Northern Mustang, Nepal
• Lose my breathe in front of the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet (*)
  
• Explore the Buddhist monasteries in Bhutan (like the Taktsang Dzong)

• Kill¹ four religions with one kora around Mount Kailash, Tibet
• Cross off the holy sites for another three religions by visiting Israel
• Get my foodie and inner-culture-maven on in San Sebastián, Spain
• View Mount Everest's North Face from the Chinese EBC
• Travel the world's highest railway between Lhasa and Golmud (*)
  
• Do a cross-country / cross-continental road-trip by motorcycle (like Route 66)
• Lose myself in the Gobi Desert in Mongolia
